The Sugarloaf Interconnector Pipeline costing $750m is a key piece of infrastructure in the Victorian Government’s Water Plan. Designed to deliver up to 75 billion litres of water each year the 70 klm pipeline will extend from the Goulburn River north of Yea to the Sugarloaf Reservoir in the Yarra Ranges.

In addition to the pipeline the project infrastructure includes a low lift pump station, a balancing storage and High Lift pump station, inlet works at Sugarloaf reservoir and associated electrical infrastructure

Gertzel Engineering Surveyors is contracted to the SLPA for the provision of surveying services for the construction of the associated pipeline infrastructure, namely.

• Sugarloaf inlet Structure

Survey works comprised infill of supplied control network, set out for access roads and bulk earthworks, set out and as built for general concrete works, set out and as built for guide walls for 474 number secant piles up to 16m deep, monitoring of guide walls, piled structures and coffer dams, set out for a sheet pile coffer dam structure in the Goulburn River, set out for base slabs and structural steelwork, set out and as built of numerous footings, and monitoring of storage structures during commissioning.
